Good morning.
Today we’re listening to Vanessa Wagner, a French classical pianist. We’ve recommended her two times just in the last 18 months, but two new records both from this month call for a faster revisit than usual. To catch you up, Wagner studied at the Conservatoire de Paris and in her own records favors minimalist composers like Philip Glass and Moondog. On the new record released this past Friday, Mirrored, she performs works by the above composers but also beautiful renditions of Ryuichi Sakamoto and Camille Pépin. We’re also playing Wagner’s album of Scriabine pieces, which was originally recorded in 1997 but just released on streaming by Lyrinx.
