Houghten started playing guitar at age 12 and would use a tape recorder to loop and layer his own guitar recordings.¹ Inspired by producers DJ Shadow and Aphex Twin, in his solo albums he set guitar chords and melodies to drum machines. Three Seeds from 2021 and Quantum Flow from 2022 are supreme examples of this.
