Good morning.
It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Qrion, a Japanese dance music producer and DJ from Sapporo. Her father, a concert pianist, taught her piano when she was young.1 As a teenager she got into punk and post-hardcore music, eventually discovering Skrillex who opened her eyes to EDM.2 In 2015, she moved to San Francisco, where five years later she would begin work on her debut LP. I Hope It Lasts Forever channels nostalgia in various forms, but especially through early memories of her dad. We’re also playing the remix album which came out in April 2022.
