Good morning.
Today we’re listening to Pyur, a German electronic music producer based in Berlin. Thanks to at Zen Sounds for surfacing her work. Born in Munich, her mother played Beethoven and Wagner at home, but her formative teenage influences were Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, and – most importantly – Burial.1 Her latest record, Lucid Anarchy, came out about a month ago. It’s a collection of glitchy, twitchy synth phrases, which oscillate and mutate over subtle bass notes or pure silence. We’re also playing Oratorio for the Underworld, her hourlong LP from 2019, which is more “nebulous and haunting,” to quote The Quietus’ assessment.

Have a great Wednesday.
