It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Pole, an electronic music project from German musician Stefan Betke. Born in Düsseldorf, he got into punk and avant-garde music and played keyboard in bands as a teenager.1 Since 2001 he’s released a dozen LPs under the name Pole, many categorized as dubtronica. We’re first playing his latest, Tempus, which came out a few weeks ago, which makes for great minor-key focus music. We’re also playing 3, the third part of a 2008 trilogy, which consists of minimalist, babbling dub tracks.
