Good morning.
It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Modeselektor, a German electronic duo made up of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary. The duo formed in Berlin in the ‘90s after the wall came down and the East Berlin dance scene exploded.1 Modeselektor’s music is a mindbending hybrid of pixel-perfect design and drunken club chaos. Last year they published an LP called Extended, which mixes their signature distorted synth and drums into science fiction-like ambiences. Next we’re playing Modeselektor’s 2007 LP, Happy Birthday!, which is rawer production and features a bunch of guest vocalists including Thom Yorke.
Extended - Modeselektor (60m, basically no vocals)

Happy Birthday! - Modeselektor (70m, vocals on half the tracks)

Have a really nice weekend.
Great choice! I love the music they created as the group Moderat. It’s good music to enter a flow state. 😀
