Good morning.
It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Kloke, a British electronic musician and DJ based in Melbourne, Australia. In the early 2010s he attended Red Bull Music Academy New York and then released his first record in 2014. He was especially inspired by the music he grew up with, which was “mid-’90s or early ’90s drum-n-bass, jungle stuff,” he said in an RBMA alumni conversation with Kid Smpl. That influence is clear on his latest solo record, The Cosmik Connection: Lost Tape, which features fifty minutes of ethereal synth samples and swift DnB percussion. We’re also playing On Rhythm, also from this year, which skews more toward jungle.
