Good morning.
It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Kiasmos, a Faroese-Icelandic duo of Janus Rasmussen and Ólafur Arnalds. We first recommended them back in March 2019. Arnalds plays piano and Rasmussen produces. They make driving, keyboard-led dance music that’s finely crafted, propulsive, and sounds like insight translated into music. They just released the album II, their major follow-up to their eponymous debut LP from ten years ago. We’re revisiting that excellent album as well and looking forward to III in 2034.

Have a keen weekend.
I've gotten a great deal of enjoyment from the driving and even droning beat of Kiasmos's previous pieces. It's great to hear they've released a new album, and I appreciate seeing it recommended here! This kind of upbeat, melodic structured music seems most effective for putting me in the zone while I'm doing translation.
