Good morning.
It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Home, a synthwave project from producer and synth enthusiast Randy Goffe. Growing up in Punta Gorda, Florida, Goffe was heavily inspired by electronic music from the ‘70s and ‘80s, and started making synth-heavy music as a teenager. The track “Resonance” off his 2014 album Odyssey blew up on Vine in 2015 and became heavily associated with the “Simpsonwave” aesthetic, according to Retro Synthwave. The Synthwave Wiki credits him with the creation of the “chillsynth” subgenre. In any case, we’re playing Odyssey first, and then playing its 2016 follow-up, Falling into Place. All of Home’s tracks have a pleasant, energetic aesthetic that’s hard to resist.
