Good morning.
Today we’re listening to Hiroshi Yoshimura, a Japanese electronic musician from Yokohama. We’ve recommended his music four times before this – his music and ethos represent the heart of Flow State. Inspired by Brian Eno’s ‘70s ambient music, Yoshimura’s compositions helped to inspire the “environmental music” from Japanese producers in the ‘80s and ‘90s. We’re playing his signature album, Music for Nine Post Cards, from 1982, whose minimal synth impromptu loops are timeless. Then we’re playing his 1986 record, Surround, which was reissued by the label Temporal Drift last year.
