Good morning.
Today we’re listening to Hania Rani, a Polish composer and pianist. We recommended her twice in 2021. Born in Gdańsk in 1990, she began studying piano when she was seven years old, and took strong influences from Bach, Mozart, and Chopin.1 Early last year she released On Giacometti, a tender solo piano score to a documentary on the life of artist Alberto Giacometti and his family. We’re also re-upping her 2021 collaboration with cellist Dobrawa Czocher, Inner Symphonies, on which her piano is accompanied by orchestral strings.
