Good morning.
Today we’re listening to Greg Foat, a British jazz pianist and composer based in London. In his original pieces, Foat takes inspiration from eclectic sources: Morricone and Vangelis scores, new age, Serge Gainsbourg, folk, and more.1 He recently released a album called The Glass Frog, which features a range of guests from across the UK jazz scene. He also put out a version of the album called “Library Edits,” a two-disc collection of mellower renditions of five pieces. We’re playing that first, followed by his 2023 collaboration with Italian composer Gigi Masin, Dolphin.
