Today we’re listening to Gigi Masin, an Italian ambient composer and member of the band Gaussian Curve. We first recommended him in April 2020. Born in Venice in 1955, Masin walked a winding road to ambient music, including tape recorder and noise experiments in the ‘70s and early ‘80s.1 He found his sound by 1986, when he released his debut album, Wind, which we recommend. But first we’re playing his newest LP from November, Vahiné, which is a moving instrumental tribute to his wife who passed away last year.2
