Good morning.
It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to GAS, a project from German musician Wolfgang Voigt. Born in 1961 in Cologne, Voigt began releasing music as GAS in 1995.1 His eponymous debut LP appeared in 1996, but it’s been difficult to find until last month, when it was reissued on Voigt’s own label, Kompakt. GAS combines dramatically slowed samples of orchestral instruments with four-on-floor-drums, a product that’s often labelled “ambient techno.” We include additional records from Voigt’s oeuvre on our Flow State Today playlist for paying subscribers.

Have a remarkable weekend.
Love GAS! "Pop" is my personal fav.
Now this is a new one for me. I thought I had a pretty good grasp of early 90s ambient, but I had never heard of GAS. What a revelation. One of my fave Flow State discoveries recently.
