Good morning.
It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Gacha Bakradze, a Georgian electronic music from Tbilisi. Obscure Languages from 2021 isn’t all upbeat: some tracks feature fast-paced, jungle style drums while others like “Impression” lack percussion entirely. Citing the record’s early ‘90s electronic music influences, Pitchfork called it “an enjoyable throwback that benefits from three decades of advances in musical technology.” We’re also playing Pancakes, the LP from June of this year, which has a wider range of styles. Both records were put out by Barcelona based label Lapsus Records.
