It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Fax, an electronic musician from Baja and based in Mexicali. Thanks to for surfacing his music in a recent edition of Futurism Restated. Fax has been putting out records since the early aughts. We’re first listening to his 2008 LP, Yo Recuerdo, whose combination of samples and glitchy percussion reminds us of Acid Pauli. We’re also playing his newest album, Forma y Fondo, which came out earlier this month. As Sherburne notes, the album is “at first chilly,” but it “warms as it goes,” and then goes ambient in its second half.
