Good morning.
It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Andrea, an Italian electronic music producer from Turin. Andrea began his musical career as a DJ, spending years in front of crowds honing his musical judgment of what hits.1 He’s heavily inspired by ‘90s drum and bass, and his 2020 debut LP, Ritorno, revives dance currents from a bygone era. First, though, we’re playing his latest album from March, Due in Color. That album has such a unique texture, like all the tracks are stuck together in the desert depicted on the album’s cover. Both records were put out on the Munich-based label Ilian Tape, whose specialty is “broken techno,” as Pitchfork put it.
Due in Color - Andrea (60m, vocal sample on track 6)

Have a superb weekend.
This is a vibe... working to this today.
