Amon Tobin
Good morning.
It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Amon Tobin, a Brazilian electronic music producer. Born in 1972, Tobin started putting out electronic records under the name Cujo in the mid-90s. In ‘97, Tobin released his first LP under his real name called Bricolage. It was, in the words of critic Piero Scaruffi, a “sample-based collage-oriented abstract hip-hop composition,” along the lines of DJ Shadow or The Avalanches. We’re playing that eclectic record first, followed by his first and only Cujo LP from 1996 called Adventures in Foam.
