Ambient Country Episode 31: Ann Annie

Bob Holmes from SUSS explores the landscape of instrumental music with co-host Eli Goldberg of the ambient artist Ann Annie

Good morning.

In this episode of Ambient Country, Bob Holmes from SUSS is joined by his co-host Eli Goldberg aka Ann Annie, the composer from Portland, Oregon, who is releasing a new album of pastoral ambient music called The Wind. They discuss his creative process, his music, his influences, and recent tracks that have moved him, including music by Joe Hisaishi, Hana Stretton, North Americans, John Fahey, The Album Leaf, and more.

You can listen to the music recommended on this show on Spotify or Amazon Music.

We previously recommended Ann Annie twice before in Flow State. His new album, The Wind, will come out this Friday, though most of it is already available on Bandcamp. Today we’re revisiting two of his prior LPs: Wander Into from 2019 and Cordillera from 2018. Both records showcase his gentle blend of modular synth and acoustic instrumentation.
