Ambient Country Episode 28: Cowboy Sadness

Good morning.

Today we’re welcoming the Ambient Country podcast to Flow State. For years we’ve loved the Ambient Country podcast and host Bob Holmes’ conversations with artists such as Balmorhea and North Americans. Ambient Country publishes monthly, so once a month the Flow State newsletter will include a new Ambient Country episode along with links to albums featured on the show.

You can listen to the music recommended on this show on Spotify, Amazon Music, or BNDCMPR.

On today’s episode, Holmes (a member of the band SUSS) interviews David Moore, Peter Silberman, and Nick Principe of the jambient band Cowboy Sadness. They discuss influences and their favorite music, including Air, Bill Orcutt, Nathan Salsburg, and Mountains. We’re listening to Cowboy Sadness’s album Selected Jambient Works, Vol. 1, which came out in January. We’re also linking to Moore’s 2023 album Let the Moon Be a Planet, released by his ensemble Bing & Ruth.
