Good morning.
It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Al Wootton, an electronic music producer from South London. In 2009 he started putting out records under the name Deadboy, scoring a few club hits in the UK dance scene.1 Since 2019, however, he’s put out a bunch of music under his own name, reflecting a wide range of influences from garage to dub to jungle to house. We’re first playing his brand new LP, We Have Come to Banish the Dark, which is fast-paced techno with sounds that strangely blend artificial and natural. We’re also playing his 2020 LP, Witness, on which the above influences surface more recognizably.
